As enhancement shaman keep suck in WotLK, and the time zone difference from Hawaii and Taiwan makes me hard to raid, I decided to create a new character in US realm. After reading some material and look into classes' talent trees, I found that Paladin is quite amazing in WotLK. Retribution looks super powerful while Holy and Protection works still great. Repentance last for 1 min, means Retribution Paladin now have nice CC in small dungeon. Healing, tanking, DPS, CC, all are within the capability of Paladin, isn't it great? Paladin also have large PvP viablities. He has Hammer of Justice to stun players for 5 sec. He has Divine Shield to protect himself. He has Hand of Freedom for anti-cc. And he has good damage brust. It is much better than enhancement shaman's situtation in PvP.
However, not long after I create my character 2 days ago, I saw the WotLK Beta - Build 9138 and was surprised to the ground. retribution suffered a major nerf. All Seals and Judgements, which consist the major part of pal's DPS, got 20% nerf. And mana regeneration was nerf by a half too. But the most surprise thing to me is, whatever class I play, that class will get bad luck. Shaman sucks since before TBC, and now Paladin get suck as well. OK, it's just a joke, and it's only a coincidence. :-P
I am not sure if this nerf is unfair to Paladin. But from blizzard's word, Paladin is quite overpowered before this nerf. If so, then it is reasonable to nerf it in order to get classes balance. I did not try the overpowered Paladin, so I don't know how far it had gone. But the base class mechanism did not change. Paladin still have great viabilty over all game contents. And easily stun a target and put on some brust damage and finish killing a oppent player sound OP indeed and should be fixed. So I would feel please to keep going with my little yound Paladin and see if blizzard keep his word in their clarify about this nerf.
